Optometry Services We Provide

Comprehensive Eye Exams
The “physical” of your eyes should be performed yearly. Our eye examinations are more than just a glasses prescription. We evaluate the entire health of the eyes and can detect eye diseases that may cause permanent vision damage, something glasses or contact lens cannot fix. Furthermore, the eyes are a window to the overall health of the body and can detect systemic conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
Pediatric Eye Exam
SJ Vision specializes in pediatric eye exams for children starting when they are born until they become an adult. Babies by six months of age are tested for eye focusing skills, color vision and depth perception. We recommend that children come in for a full comprehensive eye exam even if they’ve passed their vision screening as they do not test for all of the problems that could affect their health.
Contact Lens Evaluation
There are many reasons to prefer contact lenses to standard eyewear. There have been great advancements in the comfort and vision of contact lenses. Our doctor is highly trained in difficult to fit contact lenses and will recommend the best contact lens for your visual needs.
Diabetic Eye Care
Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness among American adults. Damage to the eye can be prevented by having yearly eye exams. Our doctor can identify any vision threatening damage from diabetes and uses state-of-the-art technology to detect any potential risks.
Dry Eyes
Dry Eye Syndrome refers to the breakdown in the quality and quantity of tears to moisten, cleanse and protect the eye. Dryness will cause discomfort such as burning, tearing, gritty sensation or blurry vision. Our doctor will be able to properly determine the most effective treatment plan.
Medical Exam
Not everything about the eyes is routine. There are many ocular conditions which can cause a “red eye” such as allergies, pink eye, conjunctivitis, floaters, or flashes. Our doctor will be able to assess your eye health and determine the most effective treatment plan
Myopia Management
Commonly known as nearsightedness, Myopia is a progressive eye condition that begins in childhood and increases in severity through the teen years. A cornea that is too curved or an eye that is too long prevents the eye from focusing, making distant objects blurry. By 2050, almost 50% of the population is expected to suffer from myopia. The good news is that with the right myopia management program you can reduce myopia’s impact on your child. SJ Vision Eye Care can work with you to create a regimen that focuses on slowing the progression of your child’s condition.
